White Shirts
The Crisp White Shirt - an indispensable part of a stylish wardrobe...
White shirts are a staple for us whether we are at work or at play! There are loads of white shirts in differing styles that are both at No Knickers and Fur Coat prices. Be warned, you do get what you pay for with white shirts. White shirts in the lower price range may tend to yellow over time or stain easily. They may also tend to be see through due to the cheaper materials used. FCaNK thinks that you will need to factor in a new white shirt every 12 months if you are purchasing a No Knickers shirt.
We think that Zara produce some of the most imaginative white shirt designs in the mid range price bracket. Again, beware of staining and do check for any see through threat! We have found that a cotton and elastine mix is particularly hard wearing and will keep its shape for a longer period of time. Crew Clothing's white shirts are not to be sneezed at. Emma has had her CC white shirt for two years now. It still looks crisp and white and she wears it all year round. Her husband also loves the CC quality and wear!
Our personal favourite of the moment is Perfeckcija, home to the Perfect White Shirt. They produce the most divine, high quality and long lasting white shirts. They are also English owned and are ethical. They are ticking alot of FCaNK boxes! Having spotted their flamenco design shirt, I have obsessed about it ever since and saved my pennies to afford it. This small but stylish company is definitely at the top of our Fur Coat list! Don't be put off by the website, it just goes to show what a unique, gorgeous little company it is!

In Summary
You don't need to spend a lot of money on a white shirt but it is really important to update your No Knickers white shirt regularly because of staining and yellowing
Choose a cotton mix, for its' hard wearing quality, especially good for work!
Invest in a decent stain remover. Check out Maintaining Your Wardrobe.
If you are worried that white might be a very cold colour, warm it up with a warm coloured knitted vest top and in the summer apply a little bit of natural tan to a give you a warm glow.
