What can we take from GIVe?

We have seen George move his attentions from Next to Asda and on to Per Una but GIVe or George IV is something completely different; or is it?

FCaNK are little impressed by the GIVe designs. Many of them echo past Per Una and Next styling but use higher quality fabrics and touches of luxury. For example, the pocket designs on the jeans could easily look M&S or Next but GIVe have added touches of Swarovski crystal just to hype up the quality. As you know, FCaNK are agreed that these touches often look a bit grim unless you are paying serious top dollar and even then...No knickers friends...steer clear!

We had a peek at the GIVe coat styling and the one we looked at had the potential to be gorgeous and was beautiful quality but had an annoying wool cowl that was attached to the coat. At £200+ and without a high end designer label; this may not be the classic chic investment buy that you would be looking for. For us at FCaNK the cowl is just one example of annoying style details that are far too reminiscent of Per Una, just getting it that little bit wrong!

We are agreed that GIVe have presented us with a novel shopping experience. We can shop online in the store to look at stock levels, we can look at our chosen garment to see how it styles on the catwalk; the website is easy to navigate around and clothes can be looked at in colour capsules; all singing all dancing store and online experience. Unfortunately though we are yet to be convinced by the styling. We particularly disliked the tie-dye (die?) colour graded tops! We hated them at Per Una and we feel a similar distaste at GIVe.

GIVe hooded knit wrapThe garment that we particularly loved at GIVe was a hooded knit wrap for £65, we felt it was stylish and eloquent and actually good value for the quality of the knit.

As you well know, at FCaNK we are committed to supporting ethical companies and GIVe are proposing to give 10% of their sales to charity which is a concept we adore. All hail 'the king of the high street!'

We will be keeping an eye on GIVe over the next few seasons and willing them to do well but their opening story was a little disappointing.

Remember ladies, have fun with what you wear and allow us to lead you through the High Street fashion mania to find your own personal sense of style and comfort; we will probably be saving you a pretty penny!

Happy days!

agrees with No Knickers that the quality of the material is outstanding. She does think that it suits the more mature client! It is definately not for the racey at heart!!
