Ssshhh ... Secret Sales!

Oh, we love secret sales!  A Swedish friend first introduced us to this concept.  She bagged herself an incredible bargain recently.  Madeleine is well known throughout London Fur Coat shops!  So much so that when the shops conduct a secret in store sale, they call Madeleine and invite her to shop at a discount.   On a recent Sunday morning, Madeleine took herself into Bluebird on the Kings Road.  She had been invited to come between 9:30 and 11:30am for a 90% off sale! We wish we had got the call!

She didn't intend to go, but when she found herself at a loose end that Sunday, she took herself in there.  Well, just as well she did!  She found the most exquisitely divine green soft leather coat.  It had been reduced from £995 to £500.  Madeleine took the coat up to the counter and asked if  it was 90% off the original or the sale price. The assistant answered that it was 90% off the sale price! When Madeleine had picked her jaw up from the floor, she quickly opened her wallet and handed over £50 to buy this amazing coat! Can you believe it? We couldn't it as it has never happened to us!  The moral of the story however is to always ask if the stores are giving any discounts on their goods.  It is always worth asking as many shops (especially in this climate) as giving extra discounts to people who ask!  It is also worth asking if the shop will give a discount if your pay by cash.
