Delve into Debenhams
A trip to Debenhams is a bit like visiting TK Maxx. Things can be rather disorderly with merchandise displayed haphazardly around the store. It is well worth the visit though if only for their designer collaborations. Designers like Matthew Williamson, Betty Jackson and Jasper Conran are three of the names you will find here.
Loads of the high street shops have concessions here, making it a all in one shop for some. Fur Coat's friend loves living where she does, as she has a TK Maxx and Debenhams down the road. She satisfies all her style needs (and she oozes style!) at these two shops.
A last note but a very important one is that Debenhams are ALWAYS discounting their products. Watch out for their regular 10% or 20% sales.

- Matthew Williamson Butterfly - does high street sequins in style (thank goodness - these clothes are thin on the ground!) plus funky high street leather jackets. Mix it in with some silk pieces and you have a collection that is a lot of fun.

- Oasis has a great Mac jacket although it does have some vile shoulder pads! Please no to Crystal Carrington and Dynasty!

- The shoe Department has great high street concessions stores here. Check out Carvella, Nine West, Good for the Sole Collection, Faith, Mantaray and Debenhams own brands like Red Herring.
Purchase with Care
- J by Jasper Conran labels his shoes and bags heavily.
- Julien MacDonald - shirts a bit tacky
- Watch the soles and the quality of the cheaper footwear.
- Merchandising and presentation can be off putting simply because it is very hard to be inspired to part with any money. The trick is to put on your "I am at a discount store that lacks any soul, but will ferret around until I find what I want!!" hat!
