Cosy Toes For The Chilly Season
We loved the September glow of the Indian Summer but we are all beginning to sense the chill of the seasons changing. It's time for us to prepare for the bonfire night, snuggle season by investing in cosy tights and fluffy socks. We present the best of the 'cosy up' high street, market and online stores! Noa Noa are performing brilliantly this season for socks. They have come up with some Autumnal sock accessories in roasted plum, nutmeg and garnet colours. Stripes and dots and miniature details, all for £10 or less. For gorgeous knits and superb quality, look at Pantherella socks. This company is the English answer to Tabio and are quality and comfort devotees, using merino, cashmere and sea island cotton...purrfect. Shop away ladies!
We have found a fabulous darling 'Fur Coat' jacquard sock designer called 'Odd Molly' This Scandinavian company are really pushing the boundaries on thick sock and arm warmers.
They also make truly cute jacquard cardigans. These accessories are particularly lovely for an ' I eat organic ' look but are quite a stretch for the 'No Knickers' amongst us because these wool warmers are £50+ and cardigans are £140+.
Bag News, I'm Afraid!
FCaNK sticks to an age old rule. A fantastic bag (no matter it's price), a fab pair of shoes and accessories will make any outfit special. You don't need to spend the earth on a bag. It just needs to be right for you and good quality. And money doesn't necessarily buy these. FCaNK does not recommend you rush out and buy the gorgeous black crocodile skin Gucci handbag for a whopping £19,209! It may be beautiful but how on earth do you justify that amount of money?
This coming winter season sees some exciting bags in the shops.
We are loving the current mulberry and the tangerine orange colours! So warm and juicy for those cold days. So break out and buy yourself a yummy raspberry red bag and boot those winter blues to high heaven! Remember not to be too serious with your bag. Steer away from your blacks and tans. Live a little and have a laugh with your bag! As a note of interest, now is the right time to invest in a Fur Coat bag. The recession has placed a lot of pressure on high couture houses, resulting in a lot of unsold stock around the world. This unsold stock is coming into the stores now for you to buy at a fraction of the price! Go to our Secret Sales and our Discount Shopping links at www.fcank.com.
Are These Boots Really Made For Walking?!
We have delved deep into the world of the OTKB (Over The Knee Panto Boot) and come up with ways to wear these fabulous items without looking like a lady of the night or the protagonist for a festive panto! Stick to these rules when donning your long lean beauties.
1. Check that your thighs are thinner than the top of the boot. You do not want muffin top thighs! Don't be too alarmed by this sage advice. Most boots have a wider top to enable your thigh to move around!
2. FCaNK recommends wearing dark tights or leggings with the boots. After all, a bit of modesty goes a long way!
3. Keep the colour neutral, say a black suede or patent black are lovely. Karen Millen has a lovely pair of mist grey boots this season.
4. Keep the clothes low key and classic. After all, you don't want to overwhelm such a fabulous item on your legs!
5. Expect to pay a little more for OVTKB. After all there is more material involved here!
FCaNK loves a black suede OVTKB with a slight heel worn with a houndstooth snuggle a la Jameela or a smoky grey knitted dress. Divine!

For a £50 version have a look at Abandon OTKB at USC, synthetic but a steal at £50 ..just watch out for sweaty backs of knees ....Yikes ...is it worth it?
A Last Word...
FCaNK has made some decisions about the faux fur situation out in retail - land and we are particularly interested to find out what you think about this Captain Caveman phenomenon! Leave your comments at the bottom of our blog pages! We'd love to hear from you!
Remember whatever the size of your budget you can always afford to shop stylishly and intelligently and don't forget to snap up the Tiddly Pom Pom goodies before they hit the high street!
Happy Cosy, Autumnal Days Ladies! Signing off......
Emma (Fur Coat) and Suzie (No Knickers)
