No Knickers
I am not the type to knit my own jumper
I am not the type to knit my own jumper, sew up my own jeans or even make my own granola but I know that the benefits and rewards from doing these things can be great.
I would be the last person to advocate spa treatments using kitchen cupboard ingredients believe me. None of them ever seem to work. I remember at the age of 13 treating my acne prone skin to an oat and yoghurt mask whilst trying to dye my mousy brown hair with chamomile flowers. Sorry, but these natural, store cupboard beauty tricks served no purpose except to make me feel more ugly, covered in oat flakes, and I continued to be acne ridden and mouse until I was 16 and could afford to pay for 'Sun In,' which didn't exactly help!
My only store cupboard spa treat that I will ever advocate is simple and to the point. It isn't a substitute for a professional pedicure or a manicure but it definitely helps to keep you topped up and pampered and the results for your feet and hands are actually quite brilliant.
Squeeze half a lemon into a bowl of water and add some large slugs of olive oil. I usually use a sink for this purpose. Whatever you use, it will require a thorough clean once you have finished. Soak your hands or feet in this grecian potion for about 15 mins and blot dry. You should find that the lemon has bleached and cleaned your nails and the oil has softened and nourished your skin. I then add a hand moisturiser and the spa treatment is complete. A lovely no knickers treatment that works!
