The Sublime World of Leona Edmiston
Leona Edmiston is an Sydney based Australian designer . Her designs are so easy to wear and hug the body in all the right places!Fur Coat knew Leona's designs well in Australia in her previous incarnation as Morrissey Edmiston. They were edgy and fantastic then and from there, Leona's designs have blossomed into their current beautiful selves!
You really can find something to suit you in her stores. It doesn't matter what shape or size you are. There is something for everyone here. We like them as they are feminine in a ever increasing androgenous world!
Leona works with jersey (which Fur Coat loves for it's wash and wear characteristics), silks and cottons. Her colour ways are divine. She uses colour blocks or intricate floral patterns - all without being too itsy bitsy!
Her Gardenia dress (pictured above) is perfect for a summer cocktail party or indeed a casual lunch with friends in the sunshine. Mix it up with some killer heels (the heels pictured in our April newsletter would be perfect!) and a big pair of sunglasses (for the day) or a bold clutch (for your nighttime party) and the world is your oyster. It is a mixture of Polyester and spandex making it really easy to wash and care for! This beauty retails for £340.
Leona also does some fab dresses that fit the body like a glove - as I said before - in all the right places! Just look at the neckline on the Andrina
dress and the fact that it is made from a soft jersey makes it so easy to care for. Just throw on some heels and grab your bag and you are ready for action! We dare say that you could even take Andrina with you to the office! That would create and bit of stir and probably make everyone's day!FCaNK loves these dresses even in the depths of Winter. They look fab with a pair of boots and great tights. Anywhere, Anytime really!
Her silk dresses are truly to die for! They flow so beautifully and fit so well. Sorry that we keep on banging on about the fit so much, but it is true! That's why so many celebs are out there wearing her designs. There will be no nasty pap shots of them in the press. You can't look awful in one of these dresses! Her Jill dress (pictured above) is just divine. We love it! Parties, BBQ's, cocktail parties...we are so there!
Now down to the nitty gritty of how the collection is organised. Leona has two collections. The Leona Edmiston collection is high end with the prices to match. Dresses start from £190. Her Leona by Leona Edmiston collection is priced from about £100 and under! Not bad, we think! She also does accessories, scarves, nighties and bags. Let's not forget her Little Leona collection for girls. Fur Coat's daughter has a couple of pieces and lives to wear them. They are quirky and cute and you can pick them up from about £45. Of course, Fur Coat bought them on sale of mine Fur Coat!
