I ran away from my children yesterday afternoon and into the world of Fur Coat and No Knickers. It was so nice to get away for a few hours with my friend Sarah. FCaNK was invited to a press day at the newly launched Dee Vesali PR Agency.
I drove into Soho (so naughty - yes, I should have caught public transport!) and parked in China Town. Soho was pumping yesterday afternoon. It is probably like that every day but as I am in the world of suburbia most of the time, I don't get the chance to see it very often!
Anyway, we found ourselves on Old Compton Street outside the door to the Soho Basement Club (exact name escapes me). We went downstairs and found a veritable treasure trove of goodies!
We started with a glass of champagne and a touch and feel of VC Cashmere's divine knitwear. It is even more beautiful in the flesh! And so on trend, I love it. See my earlier blog on this designer.
We then moved onto Studio TMLS's AW10 collection. Can I just tell you that they have some amazing above the knee boots coming. They will leave the other boots in their wake! They do have some divine shoes for SS10 though. Check out our April newsletter for the word on this.
Some other shoes really stole the show though. Quite literally as they are the shoes favoured by Maria Carey and Beyonce on their tours. Gianmarco Lorenzi is quite a star and designs and makes shoes that make quite a statement.
Another show stopper was the Muks boots. This is very much AW10 but stay posted as they will take the fashion world by storm. The Ugg Boot will be so yesterday!
Saving our favourite for last...is Belen Echandia bags. They are simply to die for. They follow all the FCaNk rules. Not too overpriced for the quality that you are getting (£200-£600). They are not too heavy on the branding or the hardware. They have loads of compartments making them so practical. The winner of the day for sure!
Then it was a coffee at Costa ( me - decaf cap - Sarah - the all new flat white ) and home to the kids, who guess what, had been fighting! The holidays are way too long in this country!
