What big eyes you have grandma!

The last time I wore fake eye lashes was at a "bad taste" fancy dress party in the 80's a number of years ago. However, the winds of fashion have changed and fake eyelashes are making a massive comeback! If you've got adorable, thick, long eyelashes you are in luck for this season.

If you want to go "natural" and only wear mascara then the Diorshowmascara is just what you need to elongate and thicken up your sultry lashes. I thought I might invest in eye lash extensions because they sounded a bit more grown up than a fake pair of eyelashes, however, my budget prevailed. Spending £40+ on fake eyelashes that may last two to three weeks is not my idea of a joy filled purchase. Instead, I took myself off to Boots for a £5 set of fakes that I can re- use until I die..or run out of glue!

FCaNK thinks that the best fake eyelashes on the market at the moment are  Mac eyelashes that work out at £17 for lash glue and the lashes themselves. They are a good deal more professional than basic eye lashes but are a lot of money to spend if this is your first time at faking it! FCaNK recommends that the £4.95 Eylure Naturalite lashes are good first time lashes to experiment with and as you increase in confidence the braver you can become! For those of us who are loooking for a little more beauty drama , the Kimberley eyelashes are thick, gorgeous and slightly daring ..just try and ignore the teenage packaging!

The only problem with fake eyelashes is that you need to give yourself 15-20 mins to attach them to your eye. We recommend availing yourself of a great pair of tweezers and a hand mirror. Also, be prepared to take a bit more eyelash support with you in your handbag.  You need to factor in a mini mirror, tweezers, glue and the eye lash case..in case you give up all together! Have a look at our very cute clutches in this month's newsletter!

I have to say, I spent all day, at a wedding, in a pair of £4.95 Naturalite lashes and they lasted really well although I did need to glue up more than I had at first thought! My lashes managed to stick on through wind and rain and by the end of the 12 hour fun fest they were still clinging hopelessly to my eyelid.

Cheap and cheerful seems to be that way to start 2010...so happy days lovely ladies!
