Sunshine Hysteria

Sunshine we all adore but it can magnify body paranoia as we begin to question whether we will be able to expose our bodies for another year like we did last summer! Gosh body anxiety is so boring! For some strange reason, at this time of year, our brains have not yet adjusted to the thought that it might be acceptable to show more body than just a face and a neck...we have been wrapped up in scarves, woollen tights and boots for too long!

I am giving my body and my brain time to adjust this year and before I have a vain, Hands and Feethysterical fit at the shape of my legs, the thread veins on my knees or my puffy ankles I am going to focus on getting the two least threatening parts of my body in order; my hands and my feet!

My nails are badly breaking with the abuse they have been given from central heating and harsh winds and my cuticles are rigid.  I would love to be one of those girls with perfectly formed, porcelain pink nails. However, I am one of these people whose nails are naturally pretty ugly unless I do something to assist them!

In the quest for beautiful hands, I have recently, splashed a bit of cash on Jessica Brittle Nail Treatment. As you know, I never spend out on this kind of luxury but this time, I was desperate! My nails were regularly breaking half way down the nail bed and I was in abject pain. I was very sceptical about a treatment that looks and smells like clear nail varnish but has nail healing properties like protein, calcium and water but my scepticism is waning because after three weeks of treatment I now have ten healthy nails, none of which have broken ...hurrah!!

As for my toe nails...I have given up on pedicures, they are a waste of money because healthy nails are prettier than painted nails at this time of year! Instead I go and book myself in, alongside my eighty year old friends, to a chiropodist! For a bit less money than many salons I have been to, chiropodists will take an electric sander to my elephant-like toe nails...and sand them down until they come up beautifully. They feel refreshed and look gorgeous and give me enough toe nail confidence to go natural...amazing!

From now until October, I am going to periodically use my miraculous olive oil and lemon treatment, to keep yellowing nails at bay and to deal with summer cracked heel syndrome...oops...let's not think about that just yet.....Fur Coat and I will do some research and you'll be the first to know if we find a cream to heal our heels...we will keep you posted!

Anyhow ladies, it looks like next week we are set to have more snow, so don't panic about the need to show your little pinkies...there's plenty of time yet!
