Cinders you too shall go to the ball!

Whilst Fur Coat is in sunnier climes with her new bag ...it's difficult for me not to feel that my No Knickers lifestyle is just pants!! I am hanging out in the Midlands recycling my Primarni favourites! However..all is not lost...I have a fashion fairy godmother to save me!!

Girl meets dress, is the future for my next headline invitations to weddings, funerals, cocktail parties and balls, the latter of which I never get invited to because I'm not fur coat enough!!

However, an invitation to a summer wedding can put a serious spoke in the workings of my wardrobe. I can't face rolling out "the dress" that I wear at weddings, which, to be quite honest, was adorable but now is inappropriately slim fitting and is totally indiscreet even with a wonderbra to beat all wonderbras!!

Girl meets dress requires more than a paradigm shift in our thinking...but I have made that shift...am I mad?! GMD hire out beautiful bags and dresses. The concept of hiring a dress is actually very cool! Ok, so you could get an average looking event dress that you hide at the back of the wardrobe until the next event when you don't want to wear the average looking event dress anymore because it's average! For a really important event, it could be worth spending £50+ on an amazing, drop dead, wow dress that you would never, ever, never, never be able to afford to buy. This Alberta Ferretti Number is £69 to hire...oh but isn't it beautiful!

There are a few problems with this fairytale and you really need to know what you are doing...so always order your free try on a month before your date and accessorise with shoes and jewels ...or better still get a dress that doesn't need jewels. If you are terribly clumsy or prone to slippage...drink white wine and Champagne at the party...just in case!! Keep track of how many nights you have borrowed your party dress for ...otherwise your carriage will turn into a pumpkin...

However Cinders, if all goes according to plan and you drop your glass slipper ...there may well be a Prince Charming entranced by our ...beautiful...within budget....fairytale!!
