The Boy from the East End Makes It Big In Oz!
Here I am in sunny Perth, which for the uninitiated, is the capital of Western Australia. I woke up on my third day in "God's own" to have a pretty nasty case of Day Three Jet Lag. Days one and two were fine. Day three was not pleasant. I couldn't think very clearly and much less talk, so I decided that it was time to go shopping!Off to Claremont Shopping Centre I went with my mother. All the usuals were there. Country Road, Carla Zampatti, Liz Davenport, Perri Cutton - apart from Country Road, all for the over 50's. I moved on to Scanlon and Theodore. What a winner of a shop. More about them later. I briefly stopped in at Sana and Leona Edmiston.
However the winner of the day was Wayne Cooper. Originally from London, he came to Australia in 1985 and started working in the rag trade. He has become a nationwide success and his clothes are such fun. So frivolous and frothy! Vampy as well. Can they be all that?! And they looked pretty good on my 41 year old body! I zoned in on a rainbow coloured silk dress that draped itself over my body. Simply gorgeous.
Mr. Cooper has a lovely way with his designs and if you are in Australia, do yourself a favour and hop down to one of his shops. His sale was to die for too. My rainbow dress had been reduced to $116. About half that in pounds.
And just so you know (and if the husband is reading this), no, I did not purchase the dress. I had left London under strict instructions not to buy a thing as the pound has been "hammered" recently and the Aussie dollar was "sky high"....translate that to, spend as little as possible!
Oh well, next time...but the Jet Lag was alleviated to a certain extent!
Off to Sydney today...more shops to explore and report on.
